the start of something new

Wow! I am so overjoyed with whelm to start this blog!! The reason is a very dear and precious friend of mine has started one and has asked me to join her in her "new years resolution"

here's part of the message she sent me (i'm pretty sure she wont mind!)
"After searching for a while I found my perfect goal when I was opening a Christmas present. It was a beautiful brown and tan leather bible from my mom. It hit me, make my goal to read my bible everyday. But not just READ it actually delve into it, UNDERSTAND it, how it relates to me, how I can use it to further my relationship with Christ. You might be asking yourself why I'm telling you this wonderful revelation. Well, I know that I am bad with commitment, because, well I get lazy. I'm asking you as a friend and sister in Christ to help me be accountable with this new goal, to make sure I'm sticking with it. I know we are not at the same college, so to make it easier I created a blog where I can jot down verses that stuck out, questions I had, or just thoughts and prayers my reading brought to mind. This is an easy way for both of us to keep track of this goal of mine, via the internet, which we both have tons of access to. I would love it if you could help me or even join me in this goal."

I cannot wait to see how God is going to move in this! ...and that's about all I have to say for now=]

thank you Lord for this opportunity! for a friend to give me that one more little nudge I needed to get back into Your Word. =]

I am delighted that you are willing to join me in this little "journey through the bible"! I think it will be good for both of us to not only read the bible everyday but really explore it, enjoy it, truly learn from it. Just take some time everyday to reflect on what God is trying to tell us through his word. I'm so glad we have each other, it doesn't seem as daunting a task if you have someone else to walk with you and hold you accountable! Love you Katie!
